The Great Barrier Reef

Inspired by my last post, “Corals: past, present and future”, I decided to create a video about the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. More specifically about few dives I did in Cairns, one of the places you can get a spot to go diving in this spectacular ecosystem.

During the video you can see bunches of animals, such as fishes, corals, mollusks, anemones.  Some of this organisms are essential for the reef, such as the corals (obviously: https://ourpanthalassa.wordpress.com/2015/04/19/corals-past-present-and-future/), sharks (top predator of the food web: https://ourpanthalassa.wordpress.com/2015/03/31/your-role-in-the-food-web/) and parrot fishes (they eat corals, so they poop calcium carbonate, the rigid part of the corals, spreading it out along the reef and helping the reef to grow bigger).
